The practice of Frederic Anderson (Luxembourg, 1973) constitutes an emotional shorthand, a self-referential language of abstract calligraphic marks and annotations of line, shape and color produced with gestural precision. The works are strongly influenced by minimal art, music and literature. They can be understood either as blank papers on which the artist writes until he generates a certain ‘textuality’ through a very personal sign language, or as a kind of sheet music, where different notes interact to create specific rhythms and tones that could be interpreted as a kind of visual melody.
La práctica de Frederic Anderson (Luxemburgo, 1973) constituye una taquigrafía emocional, un lenguaje autorreferencial de marcas caligráficas abstractas y anotaciones de línea, forma y color producidas con precisión gestual y fuertes influencias en el arte y la música minimalistas, así como en la literatura. Sus piezas pueden ser entendidas bien como papeles en blanco donde el artista escribe hasta generar una determinada ‘textualidad’ a través de un lenguaje sígnico muy personal o bien como partituras en las que diferentes notas se relacionan creando un ritmo concreto que podría ser interpretado como una suerte de melodía.
